Wash away the dirt

“Does this work?” I inquired.

Steve laughed once more. “That’s fine,” he stated. “It’s just that you don’t want to wash away all the dirt.”

You can see exactly what I’m talking about. It’s not just that I need to be concerned about water overflow and underwatering, I also have to be concerned about erosion. What’s next? An irrigation system?
