Yeah, it’s been a while. But with the ongoing Twitter meltdown and migration (mostly to Mastodon), I’ve gotten interested in federating more parts of my digital presence. Again. And owning my data, #IndieWeb style.
The ActivityPub plugin for WordPress has matured solidly, and I’ve been running it on my blog for quite a while now.
And now I’m trying out other Federation-capable software.
So far I’ve set up a single-user Mastodon instance, joined the test server for Takahe and gotten partway through the setup for snac2. Next I plan on trying out GoToSocial and CalcKey.
Mostly I want to see what I might be able to host on a small $5/month VPS!
In any case, I don’t know if I’ll end up keeping any of these long-term. But I’m curious about how to connect them all.
