Recalibrate the Adaptive Brightness on Your Android Device

Make auto brightness work properly again

Adaptive Brightness is a feature that automatically adjusts your device display according to ambient lighting conditions, using on-device machine learning. Sometimes though, it no longer performs ideally.

To correct this, we can reset the settings:

  • On Settings > Apps > Device Health Services

  • Select ‘Storage & Cache’, then tap ‘Manage Space’ button

  • Tap ‘Reset Adaptive Brightness’ button

NOTE: If you don’t see a ‘Reset Adaptive Brightness’ button, find the ‘Clear All Data’ button
